Freedom - How Sweet It is
Iraq has a new temporary constitution signed today. My mind recalls John Hancock and the others signing the Declaration of Independence. We celebrate its significance every 4th of July but we fail to understand what it really means how it should affect our very lives. It becomes secondary to the constitution which we never celebrate it’s signing. If the constitution is more important than the Declaration of Independence then we should also celebrate its signing on September 17th.
We did not have a constitution for 11 years but we were free, because that freedom came from (endowed by) Almighty God.
Our forefathers, through hard work, got by with their new government. And you know what – there were no taxes then. They have people who solved their problems using their heads and muscles rather than rely on money.
All Americans, (liberals included) wish every Iraqi our best wishes for entering their new gate of freedom. Years from now – there will be many stories told who the Iraqis got their freedom from. Stories will fly – the truths, the half-truths and the lies.
If the Iraqis will continue their search for freedom and for a better life they will become the first democratic government in that part of the world. Then Iran will follow and the rest will follow.
We Americans will always know how and who gave them their freedom. And the Iraqis for years to come will appreciate us for spilling blood to set them free. It was George W. Bush who did it and we, the Americans..
It’s regrettable because liberals will never understand.
